Description
This gooey mug cake chocolate chip cookie is quick, easy, and made entirely in the microwave using basic pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a microwave-safe mug (about 15–20 seconds).
2. Stir in both sugars until smooth.
3. Add egg yolk and vanilla, mix well.
4. Fold in flour and salt until just combined.
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Microwave for 50–60 seconds until center looks just set.
7. Let it cool for 1 minute before serving.
Notes
Avoid overcooking—slightly undercooked gives the best gooey texture.
Use only the egg yolk, not a full egg.
Try adding a teaspoon of peanut butter for a richer version.
